Contao: Where is the localconfig.php, parameters.yml, config.yml or .env.local?

Here are the different paths where the configuration files can be located in the various Contao versions:

  • ancient Contao versions: /config/localconfig.php (or created automatically by the system under system/config/localconfig.php)
  • from Contao 4.4: /app/config/config.yml and /app/config/parameters.yml
  • from Contao 4.9: /config/config.yml and /config/parameters.yml
  • Alternatively from Contao 4.9: /contao/.env.local
